In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the predominant type, encompassing hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
The selection of formwork material is guided by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork differs significantly from that of standard combined steel formworks.
