Piers and columns are the backbone of construction, and they are differentiated based on the shape of the concrete structure: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is predominantly used, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
The choice of formwork material is determined through mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork is markedly different from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which are then used by formwork designers to create the final product.
