Piers and columns serve as fundamental elements in construction, distinguished by the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is predominantly utilized, encompassing hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are generally reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
The choice of formwork material is determined by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly differs from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which are then utilized by formwork designers to craft the final product.
