Piers and columns, vital components in construction, are categorized based on the shape of the concrete body: round-end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is predominant, incorporating hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
The choice of formwork material is determined by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork differs significantly from standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which are then utilized by formwork designers to create the final product.
