Piers and columns, pivotal in construction, are classified based on the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the predominant type, encompassing diverse designs such as hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses for enhanced structural integrity.
The selection of formwork material is meticulously guided by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly differs from standard combined steel formworks.
