In the realm of construction, piers and columns are fundamental, classified by the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
Within railway engineering, the round-end pier column takes precedence, encompassing various forms such as hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), and hollow piers. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses to ensure structural integrity.
The choice of formwork material is determined by meticulous mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly diverges from that of standard combined steel formworks. Generally, the construction unit supplies component design drawings, which formwork designers then use to produce the final product.
