Piers and columns, fundamental to construction, are classified based on the concrete body's configuration: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the principal type, encompassing hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are generally fortified using tie rods or trusses.
The choice of formwork material is determined by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly differs from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit furnishes component design drawings, which are then utilized by formwork designers to create the final product.
