Piers and columns are vital elements in construction and are classified according to the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the most prevalent type, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are generally reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
The selection of formwork material is meticulously guided by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork is distinctly different from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which are then meticulously utilized by formwork designers to create the final product.
