Piers and columns, fundamental to construction, are categorized by the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the most prevalent type, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and others. These formworks are generally reinforced with tie rods or trusses.
The choice of formwork material is governed by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork is markedly different from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, construction units provide component design drawings, which formwork designers then use to create the final product.
Tailored according to the blueprint and incorporating feedback from the construction unit, the resulting formwork is distinct from conventional fine machining products and standard construction steel structures.
