Piers and columns are the cornerstones of construction, categorized based on the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the primary type. It includes hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are generally reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
The selection of formwork material is directed by mechanical model calculations. The fabrication process for pier column formwork differs greatly from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which are then utilized by formwork designers to produce the final product.
