Piers and columns are fundamental elements in construction, categorized based on the shape of the concrete body: round-end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the predominant type. It includes hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks typically utilize tie rods or trusses for reinforcement.
The selection of formwork material is driven by mechanical model calculations, and the manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly differs from standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which are then utilized by formwork designers to create the final product.
