Piers and columns, fundamental elements in construction, are classified based on the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the most prevalent type, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are generally reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
The selection of formwork material is directed by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly diverges from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which form the basis for formwork designers to create the final product.
Customized according to the blueprint and incorporating feedback from the construction unit, the resulting formwork is distinguished from ordinary fine machining products and traditional construction steel structures.
