Piers and columns, fundamental elements in construction, are categorized based on the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the predominant type, encompassing hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
The selection of formwork material is guided by meticulous mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork markedly differs from that of standard combined steel formworks.
