Piers and columns are foundational elements in construction, classified by the concrete body shape: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the prevalent type, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses, ensuring durability and stability.
The selection of formwork material is meticulously guided by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork is markedly different from that of standard combined steel formworks.
