Piers and columns are fundamental in construction, classified based on the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the predominant type, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically fortified using tie rods or trusses.
The choice of formwork material is governed by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly diverges from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which formwork designers then utilize to create the final product.
