Piers and columns, crucial to construction, are categorized by the concrete body's shape: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round end pier column is predominant, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically reinforced with tie rods or trusses.
Formwork material selection is guided by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly differs from standard combined steel formworks. Typically, component design drawings provided by the construction unit are utilized by formwork designers to create the final product.
