Piers and columns, crucial elements in construction, are categorized based on the concrete body's shape: round-end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the most prevalent type, covering hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circles/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically reinforced with tie rods or trusses.
The selection of formwork material is determined by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly differs from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which formwork designers then utilize to create the final product.
