Piers and columns form the backbone of construction infrastructure and are classified based on the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column prevails, encompassing types such as hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), and hollow piers. These formworks are typically stabilized using tie rods or trusses.
The choice of formwork material is determined by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork significantly differs from that of standard combined steel formworks.
