Piers and columns, fundamental to construction, are classified based on the concrete structure's shape: round-end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the most predominant type, encompassing hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more. These formworks are typically fortified with tie rods or trusses for enhanced stability.
The selection of formwork material is meticulously guided by mechanical model calculations. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork is markedly different from that of standard combined steel formworks. Typically, the construction unit furnishes component design drawings, which are then employed by formwork designers to create the final product.
