Piers and columns, fundamental elements in construction, are classified based on the shape of the concrete structure: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway construction, the round-end pier column is predominant, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, among others. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses to ensure stability and robustness.
The selection of formwork material is strategically guided by mechanical model calculations, ensuring optimal performance. The manufacturing process for pier column formwork is markedly distinct from that of standard combined steel formworks.
