Piers and columns are the cornerstone elements in construction, categorized based on the geometric shape of the concrete body: round-end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the predominant choice, including variations such as hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more.
