Piers and columns, crucial elements in construction, are categorized based on the shape of the concrete body: round end pier, rectangular pier, portal pier, and frame pier.
In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the predominant type, encompassing hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, and more.
