In railway engineering, the round-end pier column is the most prevalent type, including hyperbolic piers, corbel piers (heaven and earth circle/upper circle and lower circle), hollow piers, among others. These formworks are typically reinforced using tie rods or trusses.
Formwork material selection is based on mechanical model calculations, and the manufacturing process for pier column formwork differs significantly from standard combined steel formworks. Generally, the construction unit provides component design drawings, which formwork designers then use to create the final product.
